Who You Are:

The Governance Lead of Digital Strategy will be responsible for designing and establishing a governance framework that aligns with our digital strategy and operating model, and supports the demand management and intake processes for our digital initiatives across Sanofi. The Governance Lead will also manage the digital risk assessment and mitigation and ensure the quality and compliance of our digital execution and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance Framework Design & Implementation: develop and implement a governance model that aligns with our digital strategy and operating model. The governance model will define the roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes for digital stakeholders.
  • Demand Management & Intake Processes: enable effective demand management and intake processes for our digital initiatives across Sanofi. The demand management and intake processes will determine the criteria and mechanisms for prioritizing and funding digital projects, based on their strategic alignment, value proposition, and feasibility.
  • Process Simplification & Optimization: identify and implement opportunities to simplify and optimize the digital processes, by eliminating unnecessary steps, reducing complexity, and leveraging best practices and standards. The process simplification and optimization will also involve streamlining and automating the digital workflows, tools, and platforms, as well as ensuring compliance and quality assurance.
  • Digital Risk Assessment & Mitigation: oversee the digital risk assessment and mitigation process, ensuring that potential risks are identified, evaluated, and addressed in a timely and appropriate manner. The process will also include monitoring and reporting on the status and impact of digital risks, as well as the implementation of corrective actions and lessons learned.
  • Stakeholder Management, Value Tracking & Prioritization: manage the expectations and engagement of key digital stakeholders, including business units, functions, and external partners. The stakeholder management will also involve tracking and communicating the value and outcomes of digital projects and programs, as well as ensuring alignment and collaboration across the digital portfolio.
  • Operating Model Implementation: support the implementation of the digital operating model, by defining and facilitating the roles, processes, and capabilities required for effective digital delivery. The operating model implementation will also include providing guidance, training, and coaching to digital teams and leaders, as well as fostering a culture of innovation and agility.

How you will be successful:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams across DSPO, Digital and broader Sanofi, to ensure a cohesive digital strategy.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data analytics and insights to inform digital strategy decisions, measure performance, and continuously optimize digital initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Management: work successfully with stakeholders of all levels within and outside of Sanofi, maintaining a gravitas to respectfully challenge senior leaders when necessary using fact-based and mutual-problem-solving approaches.
  • Hands-on Approach: Be a hands-on doer, directly contributing as well as teaching and coaching others.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven track record of at least 6-9 years in strategic roles, leading global strategy & transformation programs and driving successful business outcomes, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Understanding of digital transformations and ability to translate business questions into transformative digital enabled programs.
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning and project management principles.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams in a matrixed and international environment.
  • An assertive Permit-to-Work behavior and charismatic/emphatic approach are a must.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep understanding of agile and design thinking methodologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Analytical mindset and strategic thinking, with the ability to navigate complex business challenges and identify innovative solutions.
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes; extensive demonstrated understanding of technology trends in the Healthcare industry.
  • Expert-level slide building and visual content creation abilities
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and present data effectively.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading market research and competitive analysis programs.
