Our Team:

The Portfolio Innovation Manager works closely with the Canadian Commercial team to drive winning ideas for breakthrough innovation to drive sustainable sales growth and profitability on assigned brands – transforming new product ideas for the Canada market into reality.

  • Drive sustainable growth and profitability for the brand through strategies grounded in deep consumer insight and data analysis.
  • Recommend changes to in-year execution and/or identify new opportunities based on performance indicators.
  • Partner with the US team to ensure local alignment with local strategy.
  • Ensure alignment of the brand strategy and build strong internal partnerships with key CHC functions, including Sales, Quality, Regulatory, Medical, Finance, Supply & Communications
  • Partner closely with cross-functional and external agency partners to build and execute plans.
  • Key contributor to management of Country P&L, leading forecasting, budget tracking, and the annual business planning process.
  • Partner with Marketing Leads to ensure alignment of innovation roadmap with the brand strategy and short-term financial plans.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of low, medium, and high complexity innovation projects including new to the world products, as well new projects to improve the efficiency of our operations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the Sales, Finance, and Marketing to deliver flawless execution of product innovation on time, on scope, on budget.
  • Work with Supply Chain teams, including Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Deployment to align on the next steps to bring innovations to market.
  • Liaise with medical, legal, and regulatory team to ensure timely review and alignment on innovation concepts and go-to-market assets with brand team.
  • Manage cross functional team projects (including consumer insights, product development, regulatory, medical, design) to progress product/solutions and product claims on-time thru ideation to launch.
  • Work with sales team to understand key customer accounts to support new product launch readiness, synthesizing consumer research findings and support sales sell-in deck development.
  • Pitch ideas for winning innovation through Global and local innovation committees presenting business case for pursuit of Canadian projects

About you

Experience:

  • At a minimum, Bachelor’s degree required in Business/ Marketing
  • MBA, or Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in brand marketing, especially in OTC or CPG
  • Exceptional project management skills.
  • Leadership – skills to envision, engage, enable, and execute; ability to balance long-term strategic priorities with short-term business needs.
  • Cooperate transversally – collaborate and influence up-down-across organizations and cultures/ geographies.
  • Act for change – embrace change/innovation and initiate new and improved ways of working.
  • Strong strategic thinking
  • Excellent English & French communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Creative problem-solving
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Digitally savvy

  • English and French – advanced/excellent reading/writing/oral
