Job Description 

Are you a detail-driven accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment? We’re looking for a General Accountant to join our team and play a key role in supporting client billing, financial reporting, and audit readiness.

Reporting to the Director, Finance, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across departments, managing the full accounting cycle, and ensuring accuracy in client invoicing and reporting.

 

What You’ll Do

As a General Accountant, you’ll be at the heart of our financial operations:

  • Manage contract billing vs. schedule and support invoicing (~100 invoices/month)
  • Prepare client invoices, credit notes, and detailed reporting
  • Generate quarterly passthrough invoices
  • Ensure all invoices include accurate PO and contract references
  • Maintain and update billing and project reporting daily
  • Review project setups in LIMS/Elims (milestones, values, currencies)
  • Lead collections activities — AR statements, follow-ups, escalations
  • Collaborate with shared services to ensure accurate payment application
  • Support month-end activities, including accruals and journal entries
  • Assist with audit coordination to ensure timely, smooth completion
  • Provide backup support for AP functions

 

What You Bring

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience
  • Experience with full accounting cycle and contract review
  • Strong Excel skills and data management capabilities
  • Excellent critical thinking, organization, and time management
  • A collaborative mindset with a customer-service focus
  • Clear and professional communication skills

Nice to have:

  • CPA enrollment
  • MS Dynamics Great Plains experience
  • Exposure to IFRS and audit support

The starting annual base compensation for this position is $70,000 CAD. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package plus benefits, will be determined by a number of factors which include but are not limited to the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
