Job Summary:

The Formulation/Mixing Technician for Cannabis Infusions is responsible for preparing,

mixing, and formulating cannabis-infused products, such as infused pre-rolls and vape

cartridges. This role involves working in a controlled laboratory environment, following

strict safety and quality protocols to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory

standards. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and

adhering to the company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Preparation and Formulation:

– Measure and weigh cannabis extracts, concentrates, and other ingredients according to

precise formulations.

– Operate mixing equipment and machinery to blend ingredients, ensuring uniformity and

consistency in the final product.

– Adjust formulations as needed to achieve desired product characteristics, such as

potency, flavor, and consistency.

2. Quality Control:

– Conduct visual inspections and testing of raw materials and finished products to ensure

quality and compliance with specifications.

– Maintain detailed records of batch formulations, including ingredients, quantities, and

any deviations from standard procedures.

– Assist in troubleshooting any issues that arise during the mixing and formulation

process.

3. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

– Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including mixers, scales, and other

specialized machinery.

– Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas according to SOPs to preventcontamination and ensure a sterile environment.

– Perform routine maintenance and report any equipment malfunctions or needed repairs

to the supervisor.

4. Safety and Compliance:

– Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling and storage of

hazardous materials.

– Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to cannabis

production and handling.

– Participate in regular safety training and stay updated on industry best practices.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

– Work closely with other members of the production and quality control teams to ensure

efficient and smooth operations.

– Communicate any issues or concerns promptly to the supervisor.

– Assist in the training of new technicians as needed.

 

Qualifications:

– Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in chemistry, biology, or a related

field is preferred.

– Experience: Previous experience in a laboratory, food production, or cannabis

manufacturing environment is highly desirable.

– Skills:

– Strong attention to detail and precision in measurement and formulation.

– Knowledge of cannabis extracts, terpenes, and cannabinoids is a plus.

– Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory requirements.

– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

– Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.

Physical Requirements:

– Ability to stand for extended periods.

– Manual dexterity to handle small objects and operate machinery.
