The Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan (CFS) is a non-profit, farmer funded marketing
board for Saskatchewan’s chicken farmers. Through regulation and agreements with the
Chicken Farmers of Canada, the CFS sets the allocation of chicken to its farmers in a
supply managed system. The CFS also operates in close relation to the registered
processing plants and negotiates prices on behalf of its farmers. The CFS office is
located downtown Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with a staff of four full-time employees as
well as contracted food safety and animal care auditors.
The Executive Director will be responsible for the management of the Chicken Farmers of
Saskatchewan Marketing Board. The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of
Directors for providing leadership and vision to all aspects of the CFS, as well as
achieving strategic, financial, policy, regulation, and operating objectives in accordance
with the policies established by the Board of Directors.
The successful candidate will bring a demonstrated leadership experience ideally gained
as a leader within agriculture or other supply management focused organizations. They
will have a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, economics, business or related field. A
master’s degree in business is beneficial. They will possess the ability to support for the
supply managed system for chicken production and current production practices. They
will have strong business and organizational acumen, as well as a demonstrated ability to
work with a Board of Directors. They will be willing to travel to national and regional
meetings several times per year.
