Job Description Summary

The Business Development Associate is primarily responsible for certain agreements/contracts and supporting the Business Development department in various capacities as described below.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate and execute confidentiality agreements and material transfer agreements, as requested by Business Development and other STEMCELL departments

  • Manage requests for confidentiality agreements and material transfer agreements and track the progress thereof

  • Support the Business Development department: i) drafting and reviewing other types of agreements/contracts, such as supply and service agreements; ii) drafting and reviewing communications, documents, materials, metrics and presentations relating to STEMCELL’s business development activities; iii) reviewing and analyzing technical information, including scientific literature and patents; iv) assessing custom order requests with respect to intellectual property risk and reporting thereon; v) organizing and preparing for meetings, including the writing of meeting minutes; vi) project management and project tracking; vii) other supporting roles as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in immunology, hematology, molecular or cell biology, biochemistry or a related life science field

  • Legal background, such as paralegal experience preferred

  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced team

  • Ability to work independently while following instructions/guidelines

  • Advanced project management and organizational skills

  • Effective, clear and professional communication skills, both oral and written

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders with varying perspectives

  • Preference will be given to those candidates who have experience drafting and negotiating confidentiality agreements and material transfer agreements
