Business Analyst / Research Assistant – Sustainability & Circular Bioeconomy (Student Position)

Job Summary
BSFL Solutions is developing an innovative sustainability project focused on converting organic waste into high-value animal feed ingredients using Black Soldier Fly Larvae (BSFL).
This role provides hands-on experience in:
- Sustainability and circular economy initiatives
- Business planning and feasibility analysis
- Research and data-driven project development
Students will work closely with the project team to support research, documentation, and coordination activities in a startup environment while gaining exposure to real-world environmental innovation and bio-based production.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Project Support
- Assist with updating feasibility studies and business planning documents
- Conduct market and industry research related to animal feed, sustainability, and waste valorization
- Support data collection, analysis, and interpretation for project development
- Research regulatory, environmental, and operational requirements
- Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation
Data & Analysis
- Collect and manage research data using established standards and best practices
- Perform basic financial and operational analysis using Microsoft Excel
- Maintain accurate records to ensure data integrity and reproducibility
Collaboration & Communication
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project coordination
- Communicate findings clearly through written reports and presentations
- Share knowledge and research insights with team members
Compliance, Safety & Quality
- Follow organizational policies related to research ethics, data management, and environmental compliance
- Support safe handling and documentation of materials, processes, and waste management activities
- Maintain documentation in accordance with regulatory and funding requirements
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital tools
- Ability to conduct research and summarize findings clearly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Compensation and Benefits
