“BioTalent Canada really helps immigrants in some very deep ways,” says Rodel Imbarlina-Ramos of Toronto Regional Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC). “The breadth and the depth of their programming and the research and information that they offer to their sector helps to solve workforce challenges and shortages in biotech,” he adds.

Mr. Imbarlina-Ramos manages corporate and stakeholder relations at TRIEC. He works with Toronto’s network of immigrant serving agencies (ISAs), which helps newcomers become labour market ready.

In this video Mr. Imbarlina-Ramos explains how BioTalent Canada’s range of tools and products are vital to TRIEC’s work, bringing the two sides of the labour market together. “The closer we can get to having more industry specific integration tools, the better for the skilled newcomer who arrives in Canada,” he says.

BioTalent Canada’s landmark Labour Market Information Report will be released Thursday, September 19th 2013. The report will offer up-to-the minute insights on skills needs in biotechnology, and the opportunities that newcomers can present for the sector.
