Ensuring Canada is prepared for future pandemics has brought renewed energy to building capacity in biomanufacturing. Recent federal and provincial funding will help establish Canada as a global leader in the discovery and production of life-saving medicines, but without qualified talent, these efforts may prove fruitless.
Together with the Future Skills Centre (FSC), the Canadian Alliance for Skills and Training in Life Sciences (CASTL) in partnership with BioTalent Canada has launched a national biomanufacturing skills and training study to gather critical labour market information and future training priorities specific to Canadian biomanufacturing.
With over 16,140 skilled professionals needed by 2029 to meet the demands of biomanufacturing companies, identifying and training the necessary skills now is critical for employers.
How you can help:
We need your expertise. By sharing your knowledge in what training is needed, you will directly contribute to creating a roadmap to future-proofing Canada’s biomanufacturing workforce.

- Canadian biomanufacturing training needs;
- The length of time required to train biomanufacturing talent;
- The positions requiring training;
