Update: Student Work Placement Program now open to healthcare placements
The Student Work Placement Program is now accepting applications for healthcare placements. Canada’s healthcare industry has a growing need to produce job-ready healthcare workers. There are 1,500 open spots available in 2020-21.
Updates:
- Healthcare organizations are now eligible to apply for student wage subsidies.
- Wage subsidies cover up to 75% of all placement salaries – up to a maximum of $7,500.
- The requirement to hire above an organization’s co-op/student hiring baseline has been removed.

Canadian youth to benefit from BioTalent Canada’s green economy wage subsidy
BioTalent Canada announced on June 22 the extension of its green jobs wage subsidy program. The Science and Technology Internship Program—Green Jobs (STIP), funded by the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, helps Canadian youth start careers within Canada’s green economy. This includes organizations in energy, forestry, earth sciences, and minerals and metals.
