Taking a Strategic Approach to Funding Workforce Growth
Government funding plays an important role in helping Canadian bio-economy employers attract and develop the talent needed to innovate and scale.
Programs such as BioTalent Canada’s Science Horizons Youth Internship Program show how targeted, non-dilutive funding can directly support workforce development. However, many employers still struggle to understand how these and other programs fit into a broader, long-term funding strategy.
Our partners at Zero to One Strategic recently published an overview that outlines how organizations can move beyond one-off applications and take a more integrated approach to government funding. The article highlights the importance of aligning grants, wage subsidies, and tax credit programs such as SR&ED with business objectives, hiring plans, and innovation roadmaps.
With deep expertise in Canada’s funding landscape, Zero to One Strategic outlines how employers can better identify relevant programs, manage compliance, and plan proactively for future funding. When used strategically, government funding becomes a powerful tool to support talent investment, skills development, and sustainable growth.
