Ottawa, August 30, 2021 — BioTalent Canada is proud to announce that it has been named on the 2021 list of Best Workplaces™ for Giving Back. This recognition comes on the heels of having been named one of the 50 Best Workplaces in Canada with 10-50 employees and received a Great Place to Work® Certification 2021.
BioTalent Canada places great importance on giving back to the communities in which it operates. This year, the company’s Giving at Work campaign through HealthPartners raised close to $7,000. The company also offers paid volunteer days to its staff as part of its benefits package which gives employees the opportunity to give back with their time.
“We take corporate responsibility seriously,” says Rob Henderson, President, and CEO of BioTalent Canada. “And, frankly, the pandemic only strengthened that ideal because it showed all of us how lucky we are to have good health and financial security. To be recognized on the list of Best Workplaces™ for Giving Back validates the efforts but is, by no means, the driving motivation.”
And as an organization that supports the people behind life-changing science, BioTalent Canada has found new ways to give young minds an opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers. The organization has begun to offer its essential and technical skills training courses free of charge to all Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) participants.
“The cost of an education in Canada can add a lot of stress to a student,” says Henderson. “So, BioTalent Canada decided that to set up SWPP participants for success in the short- and long-term, we would offer them these best-in-class courses to allow them to focus on improving skills without worrying about the extra cost.”
The 2021 list of Best WorkplacesTM for Giving Back is based on direct feedback from employees of the hundreds of organizations that were surveyed by Great Place to Work®. The data has a 90% confidence and a plus or minus 5% margin of error.
