Job Description

New β Innovation Ltd. (NBI) is a preclinical stage life sciences organization in Burnaby, BC. Reporting to the Manager/ Assistant Manager, E&M, the incumbent will work within a technical team who will support ongoing equipment and facilities activities, writing/reviewing equipment documents and procedures, partaking in equipment qualification activities and will provide technical guidance and support within the facility. Equipment and systems will be located in a clean-room facility (controlled environment) that will be purpose built for production of a sterile pharmaceutical product. The incumbent works well within a fast paced work environment and enjoys collaborating closely with other stakeholders to ensure the success of the team.

This position will be on a 24/7 shift rotation. Incumbents may be required to work Monday to Thursday or Thursday to Sunday, from 7AM/PM to 7PM/AM. The successful incumbent will rotate between day and night shift every 2 weeks, and flexibility is required for adjustments as per business requirements.

Education & Qualifications: 
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant technical degree or certification
  • Must have experience working in a controlled environment (food, beverage, pharmaceutical and biotech preferred).
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or cGMP manufacturing is considered asset.
  • Power Engineering Certificate is considered an asset
  • Hands on experience in commissioning, qualifying and maintaining facility and clean room supporting utility equipment is considered asset.
  • Having Level 1 First Aid Certificate is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all individuals. Must be a team player.
  • Ability to complete work in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detail.
Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Execution of planned PM’s on facility and clean room supporting utility equipment.
  • Perform equipment maintenance or repair work, equipment trouble-shooting and engineering analysis on facility and clean room supporting utility equipment.
  • Conduct facility and equipment commissioning/qualifications as required.
  • Write, review and execute facility/equipment test plans and reports.
  • Ensure strict implementation of company policy, SOP and GMP regulations.
  • Other relevant duties/projects as assigned.
