Job Description

Reporting to the Global Director, Finance, The Manager, Corporate Accounting and Reporting is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the accounting & reporting function for the STEMCELL Global group of Companies.

Education & Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce Accounting
  • Certified as a CPA, CA
  • Minimum 3-5 years of post-qualification experience
  • Advanced financial reporting and accounting knowledge
  • Experience in preparing consolidated financial statements for medium to large sized companies
  • Experience with C-198 or Sarbanes Oxley considered an asset
  • Must be proficient with managing large-scale consolidation issues
  • Knowledge of income tax would be an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience dealing with complex accounting issues
  • Strong problem solving and time management skills
  • Proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Manage the financial global consolidation & corporate reporting process for the Stemcell Group of companies
  • Manage the accounting function for the Canadian & US entities
  • Prepare all external financial disclosure including: consolidated financial statements and accompanying notes; the Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A
  • Facilitate compliance with audit and tax reporting requirements
  • Manage the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual monthly management reports
  • Lead and develop the accounting team and be available to act as an internal consultant to regional controllers
  • Conduct technical accounting research as required and prepare accounting policy position papers and technical research memos to assist in developing accounting treatments for technical or complex issues.
  • Undertake and lead various ad hoc projects as required on a regular basis
