Job Description

As our organization continues to grow - both in terms of users and staff - we are looking for an organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to join eSight as our Quality Specialist.

Education & Qualifications: 
  • College diploma or Technical certificate in in electronics or mechanical engineering disciplines
  • Experience dealing with random urgent priorities while managing routine tasks
  • Developing production inspection & test methods in optical, electronic, or mechanical manufacturing
  • Maintaining equipment calibration
  • Leading problem-solving teams
  • Developing inspection & test methods in optical manufacturing
  • Developing product qualification methods
  • Self-disciplined in managing workload & meeting schedules
  • Process mapping; process improvement
  • Collaborating with stakeholders from customer-facing teams through to Production operators, design engineers & suppliers
  • Analyzing and describing technical issues & identifying potential causes & solutions
  • Technical writing
  • High degree of visual acuity to perform visual inspections of high quality cosmetic component

Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Assist Quality Manager with the following QMS tasks:
    • Develop and implement work instructions in support of operating procedures.
    • Identify process gaps and compliance issues with operating procedures.
    • Guide personnel on interpreting and applying operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Quality Control support:
    • Identify and implement improvements in inspection and test methods and criteria, and guide QC and Production personnel in applying these.
    • Maintain Known Issues List (KIL) per input from the Quality Manager, and guide QC and Production personnel in interpreting these.
    • Organize and conduct feedback sessions with stakeholders to gather input and evolve acceptance criteria such as product cosmetic requirements.
    • Reconcile QC inspection records with Quality Inspector, ensuring accurate record keeping.
    • Assist in assessing compliance of inspected items and resolving issues.
    • Backup support for conducting QC inspections.
  • Conduct audits:
    • Internal Quality Audits
      • Prepare audit plans and conduct audit opening/closing meetings (with assistance/direction from Quality Manager).
      • Conduct audits and produce audit reports.
      • Initiate audit CARs.
      • Maintain Audit log.
    • Conduct QA audits:
      • Production line audits.
      • Out-of-the-box product audits (i.e. FGS audit).
      • Production in-process spot-checks.
      • Mock-regulatory audits.
    • Host regulatory product audits (i.e. UL)
      • Maintain product file and audit records.
      • Initiate audit CARs & coordinate resolution.
  • Administer the nonconforming material process
    • Create, track and coordinate resolution and disposition of NCRs.
    • Maintain and organize MRB storage.
    • Produce MRB analysis reports to identify trends or highlight recurring and/or priority issues.
  • Manage the calibration and maintenance process
    • Review new equipment/tooling purchases for calibration/maintenance requirements; verify with suppliers as required to define requirements and/or assist in developing in-house requirements/methods.
    • Monitor calibration/maintenance schedule and coordinate calibration/maintenance with stakeholders accordingly.
    • Perform actual calibration/maintenance as required by calibration/maintenance instructions.
    • Maintain Calibration log.
