Job Description Summary
This Project Director position is an opportunity to be part of an exciting business venture at STEMCELL. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Project Director to spearhead a large scale, multi-million dollar project for STEMCELL’s new future manufacturing facility. This is a full-time, 5-year fixed term project that is expected to turn into a permanent position based at our headquarters in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Executive Sponsor, the Project Director is responsible for ensuring all elements of this large scale project are delivered to scope, budget and schedule over a 5-year implementation period. The project is core to STEMCELL’s overall operational strategic direction. In this leadership role, the Project Director will successfully deliver the future STEMCELL Advanced Biologics Manufacturing Facility and all necessary organizational infrastructure while minimizing the impact to business continuity during the project period.
The Project Director is responsible for the overall delivery of the project and direct management of the project delivery team, including:
- Design and fit out of the Advanced Biologics Manufacturing Facility;
- Development of a Pilot Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Facility and the GMP product pipeline;
- Implementation of core IT systems including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems);
- Development of core reporting capability and monitoring of the project’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); and
- Building budgets and reports to meet the financing requirements of the overall project.
This role is also responsible for leading the stakeholder management and communication across multiple departments within the organization and with the external partners to effectively support the Executive Sponsor and the Project Steering Committee in facilitating the organizational change management process.
