Job Description Summary

The Product Marketing Manager (PMM), Hematology is responsible for supporting a product line(s) for the Hematopoietic & Immunopoietic Tissue Team in the Research and Development (R&D) Department. With guidance, the PMM, Hematology will collaborate across the departments to effectively support the delivery of all stages of the product line(s) life cycle by proposing, implementing and executing product management initiatives, and by providing input of effective marketing strategies and tactics for new and existing products to support their growth. With input from the supervisor and senior management, this role will be the primary interface of the product line(s) that requires a high degree of interaction with all departments, the customers, and the external partners.

Education & Qualifications: 
  • PhD in Experimental Hematology, Immunology or Stem Cell Biology is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant marketing or product management experience.
  • Some understanding of product positioning and value proposition to suit market is preferred.
  • Developing business and financial acumen.
  • Strong ability in data manipulation and interpretation skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) and interpersonal skills with proven experience building strong relationships with the key opinion leaders.
  • Documented writing skills for the scientific and marketing materials and the ability to translate technical documents into effective marketing collateral, including the ability to meticulously copy edit materials.
  • Some project management and project planning experience coordinating multiple projects with varying deadlines, including the flexibility to adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Team orientated – ‘one-team’ behavior is a must.
Duties & Responsibilities: 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Product Portfolio Strategies:
    • Manage and support the entire product life cycle for one or more product line(s) by proposing and implementing product management initiatives, in consultation with supervisor.
    • Collaborate with supervisor to make product management recommendations and define product strategies.  
    • Communicate product management recommendations to the Hematopoietic & Immunopoietic Tissue Team and provide recommendations for the annual product development plan through analysis of the market(s), the competitive landscape and the customer needs.
    • Coordinate new product(s) through the New Product Proposal (NPP) and technical transfer process through to the product launch. Review Product Information Sheets, product manuals, labels and packaging.
    • Collaborate with the Pricing Team and Sales to make recommendations on the product pricing.
    • May present with the Team Lead in the Corporate Operations Meetings.
    • Provides up-to-date unit/revenue forecasts for the NPPs, inventory management and Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP).
    • Work closely with the Supply Chain Operations Team to ensure the inventory levels of products are sufficient to meet market demand and update the Sales Team.
    • Track revenue trends, report on product line financials and perform custom analyses to investigate deviations.
    • Monitor competitor and industry/research field innovations to identify market opportunities and threats. May make recommendations for combating new competitive threats.
  • Marketing and Sales Support:
    • Make recommendations towards the development of product marketing strategy, based on value proposition and target markets.
    • Interact closely with Scientific Marketing group to communicate product strategy and value proposition and collaboratively develop marketing communications strategies and annual plans for the product line(s), including lead generation, marketing collateral, conferences and trade show attendance and marketing campaigns to ensure alignment with the Sales and Corporate strategies.
      • Independently, or with Scientific Marketing designate, develop and executes marketing campaigns.
      • Prepare and propose the Hematopoietic & Immunopoietic Tissue Team’s online advertising budgets in accordance with the budget guidance.
      • Work collaboratively with the Marketing Communications Teams to ensure the successful execution and launch of the approved marketing campaigns, perform regular reviews of lead generation and performance reviews of the campaigns for the product line(s).
      • Write and provide sales scripts and other sales support tools to add value to the Sales Managers and Field Sales Representatives in improving sales strategies of the product portfolios, including developing and delivering product training to the Sales and Product Scientific Support Teams.
      • Work with the regional Sales Managers and Marketing Teams to amend as appropriate for local markets.
      • May represent the company and interact with customers at conferences
  • Leadership Development:
    • May supervise the Scientific Marketing Specialist (SMS): lead, manage, coach, develop and evaluate the direct reports through regular one-on-one and team meetings, ensure direct reports have the capability and capacity to meet the future organizational needs.
