Position Summary

As a member of the manufacturing team, and under general direction, the Manufacturing Associate works in a clean room and laboratory environment and performs various tasks including receipt of incoming materials, assembly, processing, filing, data entry, and inspections

Education & Qualifications: 

Required Knowledge and Education:

  • Minimum community college diploma or B.Sc. preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Operating knowledge of basic performance in a chemical/biochemical laboratory and instrumentation used in such laboratories;
  • Working knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements (cGMP, ISO, workplace safety) desired.

Highly Desired Experience:

  • 1-2 years industry experience, preferably in a regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment.  Medical device manufacturing experience a definite asset.
Duties & Responsibilities: 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that consumable goods are assembled, prepared and packaged in a timely manner according to established SOPs;
  • Operates laboratory testing equipment for the purposes of QC and research projects;
  • Supports microarray printing processes and equipment;
  • Assembles microarrays and other consumables;
  • Maintains production records, per established procedures in accordance with QMS;
  • Communicates production problems to supervisor;
  • Maintains a neat and safe work area;
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Skills & Competencies: 

Required Skills and Core Competencies:

  • Basic computer skills, including fluency with Excel and MS Word;
  • Excellent manual dexterity;
  • Good visual inspection skills combined with tolerance for repetitive work;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to multi-task in a time efficient manner;
  • Attention to detail in following written SOPs and producing error free records;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • Keen interest in continuous learning;
  • “Can do” attitude; entrepreneurial thinking and work ethic
