The 2024 Catalyst Award for Top New Hire

Announcing the Winner of 2024 Catalyst Award for Top New Hire

BioTalent Canada proudly announces Trisha Aldovino as the recipient of the 2024 Catalyst Award for Top New Hire. Ms. Aldovino earned this achievement through her transformative contributions to her role at Azura Associates International, a company known for its advisory services and sustainable energy projects.

Hired by Azura Associates International Inc. through BioTalent Canada’s Science Horizons Youth Internship Program, Ms. Aldovino has significantly enhanced the company culture and public engagement efforts by implementing team-building events, fostering a more connected environment, and leveraging social media channels like YouTube to build brand awareness.

“I started my internship at Azura Associates International Inc. earlier this year with big dreams. I feel that I am starting my career right and I’m honoured to receive the Catalyst Award, but to me it’s a symbol of my gratitude to the team for their ongoing support,” says Trisha Aldovino.

Reward an employee and get highlighted as an Employer of Choice

BioTalent Canada’s Catalyst Award recognizes young employees who participated in a wage subsidy program and made significant contributions to an organization in Canada’s health and biosciences sector in 2024. The winner receives a prize of $1,000.

BioTalent Canada has now completed accepting nominations for the 2024 Catalyst Award for Top New Hire. Employers, this year, were encouraged to submit nominations that describe, in detail, how their recent wage subsidy hires have gone above and beyond to contribute to their organization.

Background:

The Catalyst Award for Top New Hire was launched in 2015 to share the positive impact individuals working in the bio-economy have had in growing this critical sector.

The previous winner, Jade Bouchard, received the recognition in 2023 for her work as a co-op student at STEMCELL Technologies, a Vancouver-based biotechnology company that develops specialized cell culture media, cell isolation systems, accessory products, and scientific services that are used by life sciences researchers working in the cell therapy, cancer research, and regenerative medicine fields.

BioTalent Canada wage subsidies have placed more than 13,950 people with bio-economy employers nationwide.

“It is an honour to receive the Catalyst Award from BioTalent Canada. If it weren’t for the Student Work Placement Program, I would not have gained valuable work experience at STEMCELL Technologies and learned skills that I can now carry forward in my career.”
