Research Associate, Molecular Biology
(Temporary, full-time, initially for 12 months (extendible))

Job Description
DNA Landmarks has a career opportunity for a Research Associate within our Plant Science group. The position is within an established multidisciplinary laboratory team and involves many of the current molecular biology techniques. Work requires handling of robotic equipment, design of experimental approaches, analysis of results, as well as identify new technologies if requested by the project manager. The Research Associate will also be involved in every step of DNA sequencing and molecular characterization of transgenic events, etc. Work effectively and efficiently to meet timelines of projects and task assignments is essential. The position includes a variable work schedule that might occasionally involve some evening or weekend availability.

Education & Qualifications: 

Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate has a solid background and proven experience in molecular biology lab techniques including experience with molecular markers in plants. The Research Associate also has strong knowledge of DNA analysis techniques.
Excellent communication and organization skills as well as the ability of multitasking and working in team structures are absolutely required. French and English language skills are also essential since DNA LandMarks is a bilingual environment.

Experience: 

Education and Experience
Master or Bachelor degree in molecular biology or the equivalent with relevant academic or industrial work experience (minimum two (2) years of experience).
