Education & Qualifications:
Candidate for this position would have a Biotechnology diploma or a B.Sc. degree in biochemistry/biology, or related industry experience in the field of fermentation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Lab Fermentation Technologist will be responsible for operating manual, electronic, pneumatic and computerized laboratory process equipment and cleaning equipment & work areas; assisting scientists in the preparation, testing and maintenance of cell banks; assisting in developing downstream isolation and purification processes for both small molecule and protein products; assisting scientists during process transfer from laboratory scale to production scale; performing culture purity testing, culture quantification, gram-staining, protein quantification and SDS PAGE analysis, etc.; and complying with approved safety practices for the laboratory facility.
