The diversity and rapid growth of Canada’s bio-economy means an organization’s HR efforts need to be focused, flexible and efficient. While effective recruitment, investing in skills development and integrating staff into an organization’s business model are proven strategies for staff retention and commercial success, time to plan these efforts is often limited.
To alleviate some of this HR burden, BioTalent Canada developed HR Best Practices in the areas of recruitment and retention for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The goal of the resulting online BioTalent HR Tool Kit is to help strengthen SMEs capacity to develop HR policies specific to their unique recruitment and retention needs. It is incumbent upon the company to maintain current knowledge of its local circumstances, set its own policies and update its own HR tool kit. It is strongly suggested that the principles outlined in this tool kit serve as a guide. Where necessary, seek third party advice from HR or legal experts.
This downloadable and easy-to-use BioTalent HR Tool Kit includes practical guidelines, templates, policies and procedures that can be tailored to an organization’s individual requirements.
Watch for the BioTalent HR Tool Kit updates on how to use the new Bio-economy Skills Profiles.
