BioTalent Canada is pleased to announce its new BioManufacturing Project. This project will develop and pilot, over the next 36 months, a model to transition displaced traditional manufacturing workers into biomanufacturing, including such subsectors as bioenergy and pharmaceuticals. To ensure a smooth transition, we will identify transferable skills, create resources to help participants develop their skills, and customize a course in good manufacturing practices. Establishing this foundation in biomanufacturing skills will also help biomanufacturing companies with their future skills development, recruitment and assessments needs. For more information on this project, please contact biomanufacturing@biotalent.ca.

BioTalent Canada to help medical specialists transfer their skills into the bio-economy workforce
BioTalent is pleased to announce its new BioSkills Transfer II Project. The goal of this project is to develop resources to help internationally educated medical specialists, who are in the process of or who have not obtained certification or licensure by a regulatory body to transfer their skills to the bio-economy workforce. Through the recent BioSkills Transfer I Project the transferable skills of medical laboratory professionals into the bio-economy workforce were identified in the Laboratory Worker Skills Profile and Summary Tool. We will be building on this knowledge and experience to establish applicable profiles for medical specialists within related health, veterinarian and research related fields in the bio-economy. Establishing these bio-economy profiles will assist internationally educated medical professionals in identifying the skills and competencies needed in the bio-economy workforce and will be integrated into our BioSkills Skills Recognition Program to assist in the BioReadyTM recognition progress. For more information on the existing Bio-economy Profiles please visit www.biotalent.ca/profiles and to find out more about this project please contact skillstransfer@biotalent.ca.
